Shorter than Expected

I had gotten my first real buzz cut a few weeks ago (I did once shave it during a summer by myself without any help just to feel it.) I had never had any one professional do it. It was a basic #2 all around. At first it was a #3 on the sides and #6 on top, and I just said to go shorter. Ever since the 2nd grade when my best friend got a buzz cut, I had always wanted one. In 7th grade I did by myself and in my freshman summer I got the #2. I went down to California for a week to go water skiing by the time I got back it was about a #4. I asked my mom if she could drive me to the hair solon to get it trimmed. She asked what I was going to get I said that I was just going to get the sides trimmed because they were going over my ear. She drove me there and waited in the car till I got it done. I had to wait about 5 minutes then a lady got to me. I said I wanted a #3 on top and a #1 on the sides she did so and after I asked for a #0 on the sides. After that she asked if that was good and I asked for #1 on the top she did so. After that it was perfect, I loved it. My hair feels like velvet and coarse sandpaper. She washed my hair and I put my hat on. Too my surprise my mom was waiting inside. She paid and we left when we got into the car she asked to see it was shorter then she expected. She asked why this short and I said that I liked it shorter, I apologized if I went to short but she it was fine. I said that I was now going to get the same haircut for the next summer too.
