21 and buzzed down by James.k22@outlook.com Great story! I was so happy first time I shaved my head, but for some reasons I grow it back.
I shave it several times fo several years and grow back.
I started heaving a short hair cut on top and back and side zero.
My barber knew always what to do.
One day the deep desire in me made me say to my barber let's go a bit shorter on top more than usual. Number 3 - 1cm of hair on top. Than... my barber didn't wanted. How so?! I pay for my haircut and I said what would be.
Finally my barber explained me I was thinning all over the top of my scalp, despite the fact that the hairline on my forehead was in place. So my bangs would be an island in front and all behind it is thinning and transparent.
Even my barber draw a tonsure on the back of my head with the top of his finger to explain me where I am balding.
This was one of the best surprises in my life! It was difficult for me to hide my happiness.
After a few months I went back to my barber, told him shave it all of and it's permanent from that moment till now. by Dean on 13 Jun 2025

21 and buzzed down by James.k22@outlook.com Go for the completely shaved head. I knew I wanted my head shaved for years before I actually started shaving it permanently. My biggest regret is I didn’t listen to my inner voice and shave it long before I did. If I could turn the clocks back, I would have asked for short buzz cuts when I was a kid and would have skipped the flattop years and just went directly to a shaved head.
Do yourself the favour and at least try it. It took me a few tries until I was confident enough to make the shaved head my permanent "hair style ".

Barbers Surprise by cjd30101 Had a barber done this to me back in my hair days, I would have totally freaked out initially. I’m sure I would have been very self conscious (as I was the first time my buddy shaved my head) and worn a hat. An experience like that at an earlier age would probably have pushed me to permanently adopt a shaved head at a much earlier age. I always knew I would eventually shave my head and never grow it back. This is exactly what happened. Only wish I had shaved it earlier on. Also wish I had asked for buzz cuts as a kid. I’m sure if I had, I’d have gone shaved head earlier on in life. Now I have so little hair to grow that a shaved head is my only option. Just Like A Proper Little Barber by SteDJ I personally think those were the good old days and everything was much better back then including barbers and haircuts and the way people dressed.
I was born in 1963 and wish I could turn back the clock to when barbers did those proper short tapered haircuts with clippers. For me, there was always a slight sense of embarrassment as I left the barber shop because long hair was the fashion back then, but the thought of being clipped with white skin showing on the back and sides did and still does excite me.
I've never personally had the courage to ask for a Short back and sides myself unless I was with my mum or dad- they insisted on it and I had no choice in the matter up until about the age of 13.
Whenever I went to the barbers in later life, I always asked for a 'trim' but deep down secretly wanted a Short back and sides, I am now totally obsessed with Short back and sides.
I'd Love to go back in time and have my hair cut by Mr Wilkins because I regret not asking for a Short back and sides when i was younger, only difference this time is, I'll definitely be saying "Short back and sides please" not a trim. Bring it on! by Dagenham Paul on 07 Jun 2025
